BeachWood Classical Recordings is an independent CD label created for the distribution of the recorded compositions of Robert Vinson.

In the future, other living composers will be added to the catalogue.

Our first release is a CD of Robert Vinson's Symphony #1 and his Violin Concerto.

It was recorded August 31-September 2, 2001.

The orchestra is the Slovak Radio Orchestra with Kirk Trevor conducting and Frantisek Novotny, the violin soloist.

  • Robert Vinson is a dynamic, eclectic composer/conductor/performer residing in Los Angeles, California and St Louis, Missouri.
  • Growing up in the arts minded community of Woodstock, N.Y., he began composing at the age of 16.
  • He went on to receive a Bachelor of Music degree from the Crane School of Music, at SUNY Potsdam, and a Master of Music Degree from the Manhattan School of Music.  
  • 1971-74  USMA Band at West PointN.Y.
  • He soon became part of the New Yorkmusic scene. He worked as a composer, arranger, and performer in New York Cityfrom 1975-1981. Although he earned his living in the commercial music field, his real passion was to compose new music for the symphonic orchestra.
  • In 1981 he moved to Vancouver, British Columbiawhere he worked until 1987. While in Vancouverhe performed with the Vancouver Symphony and recorded two Jazz albums, one of which won him a spot on the 1985 Montreux Jazz Festival.
  •   Robert moved to Los Angelesin 1987 to study Film-Score Composition. He studied composition with many of Hollywood's leading film composers.

 

  Robert has composed:

·        3 symphonies, a concerto for violin, a concerto for clarinet, a ballet, many chamber music works; including ‘4 Trios for Violin, Clarinet and Piano’, ‘Romance for Violin’, and ‘Alone’ for solo clarinet.  Robert recently completed his ‘First Piano Concerto’ and ‘Concerto in F’ for violin, a tribute to George Gershwin, composed for Natasha Korsakova, ‘Caravan’ for violin and orchestra (Duke Ellington classic).   Concerto De Funk or De Funkt for violin and Orchestra w/ rhythm section.

·        Robert also has to his credit 2 film scores, numerous jazz and pop compositions andarrangements and Broadway orchestrations and arrangements.

·        In Progress:

‘Angel Love’, an opera.  The overture is completed and available for concert performance.  It will have choreography representing the highlights of the opera and will serve as a 10 minute treatment for ballet.
